Community as the foundation of human life
Freedom develops through relationships with others. Protecting it therefore requires attention to the conditions under which people care for one another and live together.
People depend on one another. The manifesto asks how political institutions should account for that dependence.
Political implications
Local assemblies could make common decisions more accessible. The test would be whether people with little free time could actually take part.
Public spaces and reliable care would form part of this arrangement. Access could not depend on belonging to the local majority.
