Freedom and equality are not opposites. Equality makes freedom real for everyone; freedom protects equality from becoming uniformity or domination.

Formal freedom remains hollow when poverty, discrimination or concentrated power prevent people from actually using it. Conversely, equality can be emancipatory only when individual rights, diversity and self-determination remain intact.
Deluism rejects a liberal freedom that confuses property power with human freedom, as well as a bureaucratic equality that politically disempowers people. It means equal dignity, an equal political voice and the real means to live a self-determined life.
Extensive liberties, protection from discrimination, democratic participation and social rights belong together. Education, health, housing and meaningful work are not commodities for the few, but foundations of equal freedom.
Political translation
Fundamental rights protect personal autonomy, minorities and open political conflict.
Social rights secure the material conditions under which freedom can actually be exercised.
Democratic and economic power is distributed so that no one can dominate others.
